I think much of our problem with generating support for Public Education comes from failing to emphasize how valuable a well educated citizenry is to all of us, not just parents of school age children! It’s valuable to ask those who say,, “But I don’t have children in school now.” if they want to live in a society consisting of poorly educated people. Presumably they do not and should be willing to pay to avoid having a dysfunctional society.
